I honestly can say Reuters, The Guardian, AP, NBCNews, Wired (of all places), and a slew of small news agencies have been reporting this pretty well in the last week or so.

Given that, I really am confused where people are getting the “oh it’s just an audit; what’s the worst that could happen” stance.

I mean: Musk and his “kids” in DOGE are cutting staff without going through proper channels, attempting to remove full departments illegally, move money to different departments (also illegally), and that’s just the stuff we know about from judicial discovery.

The chances they haven’t done far more—embedded access for themselves in backend systems, taken classified data offsite, etc—is pretty much zero.

Yet there is NO oversight within the executive branch (technically it’s Trump, but that dude is just a figurehead with a Sharpie at the moment) and no oversight within the legislative branch (because Trump fired them all).

They are currently the most powerful people in the world.

And one of them is a scrawny twig-looking little shit who calls himself Big Balls.

I mean, come on. Folks still think it’s an audit? Why? To own the libs?

Makes me want to just scream: “THEY HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR RETIREMENT FUNDS, YOUR BANK ACCOUNT DATA, AND YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!”

*sigh*
