Trump and Musk are Sabotaging Our Nation’s Security
As you may have heard, Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been given a ton of power under President Donald Trump. It’s not just executive overreach — it’s against the law (for good reason) and could cause the collapse of our Federal Government if we don’t stop it now.
I used to work in IT for 17 years, about 14 of those as a SysAdmin/Network Admin.
Never did I need access to customer books to do my job.
The same goes for companies who audit financials or provide monetary support through grants–they get profit/loss reports and organizational breakdowns, but they can’t make hiring/firing/allocation decisions on their own.
And then we have DOGE. The “Department of Government Efficiency” that likes to throw numbers up on an X feed as “proof” they’re cutting costs while gutting all of the systems we’ve developed over the last hundred years to keep our citizenry safe and secure.
And now they’re running the IRS offices. If you didn’t mutter “holy shit,” I don’t even know what to say.
I mean, the Social Security Administration’s acting commissioner — a career civil servant with over 30 years experience — resigned rather than freely give over US Citizens’ Social Security data. Yeah.

DOGE isn’t just gaining illegal access to government systems; it’s putting lives at risk through their incompetence right now.
Just last week, DOGE fired 300 people in charge of making sure our nuclear weapons are safe.
They’ve been scrambling ever since to rehire them.
They fired the people who monitor and protect our nuclear weapons. Don’t believe me because you haven’t seen it on the news anywhere?

Want to see more evidence of the complete inadequacy of this team to do the job they’ve been illegally assigned? “150 year-olds were getting Social Security” rang through the DOGE halls and the shit-covered walls of X. Many bells were rung by the far right and the folks who really need to believe that their decisions haven’t fucked us all up.
But 150 year-olds weren’t getting Social Security. The DOGE team just has no idea how COBOL works, which is what the backend systems run on.
Here’s a breakdown: if your senior citizen date of birth is incomplete or malformed, it subtracts the current date from default date in COBOL: the international standards setting conference in Paris on May 20, 1875. Which is… 150 years ago.

They raved about identifying and cutting services… all because they don’t understand what a blank field looks like in the language that runs the systems.
I wouldn’t let these assholes update servers at any of my former jobs, let alone access our entire national security apparatus.
They have all of our governmental data.
All of it.

We must act now!
Demand accountability for those risking our lives by giving DOGE access to our government systems.
Our federal government works for US, not just those who can pay for their own federal department with election donations.
Call your Elected Officials EVERY DAMN DAY their offices are open (Monday-Friday) and tell them to get DOGE out!
If you have Democratic officials: demand they become the opposition party we need right now.
If you have Republican officials: demand they grow a fuckin’ spine and represent YOU, not some Christian Nationalist agenda meant to put women back in the kitchen by ripping up the Constitution.
